GOOGLE MY BUSINESS – HOW DO I CREATE A GOOGLE MY BUSINESS LISTING FOR MY BUSINESS?
It is very important that you have both (1) a website and (2) a GMB (Google My Business) listing for your business.
Note: you should have one GMB listing for every location that your business operates. That is important because it increases the probability that searchers will be near one of your GMB listings, and proximity to the searcher is a significant factor in local search rankings.
Here’s how to create a GMB listing for your business.
First, check to see whether you already have one. Go to Google and search for the exact name of your business. If your business already has a GMB listing, it should show up in the right-hand side of the search results page.
If it’s not there, then go to https://maps.google.com, search for the street address of your office, even if it’s in your home, and then click on the “Add a missing place” link. Follow the directions after that and you will eventually have a GMB listing a few weeks or so after that.
If it is there, but you know that you haven’t previously claimed it, click on the “Own this business?” link and follow the directions after that and you will eventually have a GMB listing a few weeks or so after that.
Alternatively, if you don’t understand or want to do this yourself, you can have us create one for you. Look at our Add-Ons page and you will find an add-on there to have us do this for you.
LOGOS – HOW CAN I GET ONE MADE AND WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THEM?
It’s a very good idea for you to have a logo for your business. It will help to create a memorable “brand” for your business. Having a memorable brand will help people (1) remember you and (2) choose you.
You can get a logo created by going to any of a number of good sites online for this purpose. Here are some that generally get good reviews.
When you get your logo made, keep the following in mind.
Before you make your final choice regarding which designer to use, get them to commit to a price that includes delivering high-resolution vector-based artwork as well as jpg and png files in both color and black-and-white for all of the following three types of logo formats for you:
- Square layout – for use on Facebook and Google My Business company pages
- Horizontal layout – for use in website page headers
- ID Icon – for use as the “Site ID” icon (formerly known as the “favicon”) for your website’s browser tab.
COLORS – CAN I CHANGE THE COLORS USED FOR MY WEBSITE POWERED BY ASSISTED LIVING BOOST!?
No, you cannot change the colors used for the template that you have chosen.
WHAT ABOUT CONNECTING TO 3RD PARTY SERVICES?
You can connect your third-party services like MailChimp, embed codes, iframes and more on any page and any section.
You can also create links that go to your service that you would like to use. Almost every third-party service now has responsive pages so your end-user can have a similar experience like your website.
WHAT ABOUT INCLUDING VIDEOS AND VIRTUAL TOURS?
It’s easy to add videos and virtual tours anywhere on your website. We show you how to do it!
DO YOU OFFER EMAIL?
We don’t offer email because frankly, email is very affordable and even free from many third parties including gmail, yahoo and others.. We have decided to keep our focus on providing our customers with the best residential care facility website creation experience possible.
We strongly recommend using Google Suite for business email, calendaring, document storage and sharing and more.
You can connect services like G Suite for Business, Gmail, Office 365, Zoho mail and more through your domain registrar. Just contact your registrar and they will be happy to help you set that up usually free. If not, we will do our best to help!
WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT CAN I EXPECT IF I NEED HELP?
Our support is by chat and email. We pride ourselves in great support and offer friendly and knowledgeable assistance with setup and operations.
ARE THERE ANY CONTRACTS?
There are no contracts of any kind. We are a month to month subscription (or year to year, if you choose to save money with an annual plan!). You are free to cancel at the end of any billing period.
If you cancel you will no longer have access to your website and all of your information and files will be deleted. We cannot recover them once you cancel. If you want to cancel you can simply go into your dashboard and cancel your membership on your account page in your dashboard.
What if I already have a website?
No problem. Your current website is probably out of date and not very effective. The Assisted Living Boost! websites are modern, professionally designed and have content written by experienced elder care industry authors. You’ll be glad that you made the change!
Just sign up for the Assisted Living Boost! service and when prompted, tell us your current website’s domain name and we’ll help you transfer the domain name to your new Assisted Living Boost! website.
Will my Assisted Living Boost! website be enough to get me ranked number one on Google?
No one can promise that. Google constantly changes the rules and the algorithms it uses to rank companies in search results pages.
However, it is safe to say that two things are needed in order to have a chance to rank highly: (1) a great website, and (2) a great Google My Business listing on Google Maps. Your Assisted Living Boost! website will take care of the first item. We can help you with the second one as well, once your website is finished.
What is your refund policy?
See our Terms of Service page for complete information about all of our policies, including our refund policy.
CUSTOM DOMAIN NAME – HOW DO I GET ONE FOR MY BUSINESS AND WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?
- Your website really needs to have its own custom domain name. That domain name becomes your website’s address and therefore it’s part of your brand identity.
- Ideally, your domain name should be very similar to your business name, unless your business name is very long.
- Short domain names are easier to remember and type than longer ones. Often, your domain name may eventually become part of your business email address, and it’s easier to remember yourname@shortname.com than yourname@longerandhardertorememberaccuratelydomainname.com.
- Your domain name must be “registered” with a domain name “registrar” and you will have to pay an annual registration fee in order to have it be reserved use by you and not by anyone else.
- There are many domain name registrars. One of the best-known and easiest to use is GoDaddy.com. That’s the one that we recommend for first-time website owners.
- You go to the domain registrar of your choice online, search for the domain name that you want to use, and try to register it. If someone else already has it registered, you won’t be able to register it and you’ll have to find a different name that is equally acceptable to you.
- Ask us for help with registering your custom domain name. We can do it for you and it will be much easier for you that way.
PRIVACY POLICY AND TERMS OF SERVICE PAGES – DO I NEED THEM FOR MY WEBSITE?
We are not lawyers, so we can’t give you legal advice nor can we write these sorts of legal disclosure pages for you.
With that said, however, is is our belief that you should add pages to your website in order to describe your Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
We recommend using a law firm or a third party legal service for this, in order to get help avoiding privacy-related fines and lawsuits.
We have identified one such third party legal service that adds expertly-written legal terms pages to your website. The legal language is provided by Termageddon, and is updated automatically by Termageddon whenever necessary due to new laws and court decisions.
We offer an add-on for adding Termageddon Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages to your website. Please see our Add-Ons page for more information about this.
Templates – Can I change the template used for my website powered by Assisted Living Boost!?
No, you cannot change the template used after your website has been launched. If you have an urgent need for the template to be changed, please contact us and we will tell you whether it is possible for us to make that change for you and what we would charge for doing that.
